Fee Kat's Backyard
Plum Tree Cottage
Welcome to our peaceful backyard camp spot, perfect for travellers looking for a calm, safe place to rest for the night. Set in a friendly residential area, this grassy space beside an old plum tree suits tents or small camper setups and offers a relaxed, low-key stay away from busy holiday parks. You’ll enjoy a quiet evening, a good night’s sleep, and the feeling of being hosted rather than parked. Dogs live on the property, so fellow dog-lovers are especially welcome. The space is best suited to respectful, self-contained travellers who value a simple, comfortable stopover. A great base for exploring the local area or just taking a breather on your journey.
Eloise, Nic & Ngaio's Backyard
"Daisy Stayover" - beautiful back garden in Central Christchurch
Kia ora! We're Eloise, Nic, Ngaio (7 years old), Molly and Tui the cats. Eloise is a nurse and Nic has a joinery/woodwork business. We're both very well-travelled so we understand the travellers lifestyle and love to meet people from other countries. We have a little house close to the city centre in Christchurch. It has a large private back garden with beautiful trees for shade where you can pitch a tent, or park a campervan in our fenced front garden. (Any vehicle not used for sleeping will need to be parked on the street.) Our place a great base to explore Christchurch from! We live 10 minutes bike ride from the central city, 10 minutes drive from the beach, bus stop nearby. We're also down the road from the Red Zone, where lots of houses were cleared after the earthquakes. It's a lovely place to explore. We have a couple of old bikes you can borrow for free. Facilities include... * A small shed you can use for extra shelter and to cook in if you need to (using your own cooker). *A small fire pit - you can purchase firewood for a small charge ($5 for enough wood for one fire). * An outside toilet you can use anytime. * Access to the inside shower by arrangement ($3 per shower) * Use of laundry by arrangement ($5 per load of washing - we don't have a clothes drier but you can dry clothes on the washing line and there is a laundromat nearby) * Water from the garden tap * Wifi included Cost to camp with us is $10 per person per night, payable in advance. Maximum of 4 guests at a time, maximum of 2 small tents in the back garden, one small campervan in the front garden. Maximum stay 5 nights. Please get in touch if you have questions! We look forward to meeting you! 😀
